Operating Theatre
We are fortunate to have a number of consulting specialists who regularly attend the health facility and provide our community with an initial consultation and if further treatment is required, they will arrange for it to be carried out at Alexandra District Health or direct you to another health service. This enables patients to be treated locally as much as possible.
The theatre is well resourced with modern and up-to-date equipment ensuring optimal treatment and safe care.
What Surgical Specialists operate at Alexandra District Health?
Alexandra District Health offers the following surgical services. The list of procedures available at ADH is not exhaustive and we encourage you to speak directly to the relevant consultant to discuss your options.
Seeing a specialist who performs procedures locally might result in an earlier treatment. Plus, you can save on travel time and inconvenience. Getting appropriate care closer to home has also been shown to aid recovery.
Some procedures may require a visit to a larger hospital with more complex surgical facilities, however your Surgical Consultant may still be able to conduct your pre and post-operative consultation locally. Your Surgical Consultant will be able to advise on the most appropriate / convenient hospital for you.
